I&#8217;m not really sure who to blame on this though. In short I wanted to create a portal, so I went about looking for guides. Mayny of the guides appear to just reprint the Wikipedia documentation.<\/p>\n<p>Well&#8230; that would be great if the Wikipedia documentation didn&#8217;t rest upon the existence of dozens of layers of templates to work the way they instruct.<\/p>\n<p>This effectively makes the documentation useless for all installs of MediaWiki since they don&#8217;t come pre-installed with all of that very same documentation.<\/p>\n<p>Sigh&#8230; I did just find a site today that might be promising called WikiUniversity, but it&#8217;s going to take me a few days to see what it&#8217;s got.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, I&#8217;ve been diving into MediaWiki at work trying to do some crash immersion and I&#8217;ll have to say that I&#8217;m pretty irritated at the documentation out there.
