The Picture Publisher 8.0.1 Patch is a self-extracting file named: PP801.EXE. Note: This patch will only update the U.S. English Retail version of Picture Publisher 8. The patch is not required for the version of Picture Publisher 8 shipping with Webtricity 2.0, or for TRIAL versions of Picture Publisher 8. These versions include the fixes and enhancements provided by the patch. If you have a currently installed working copy of Picture Publisher 8 and want to upgrade to Picture Publisher 8.0.1, you will need to run the PP801.EXE file to install the update. In order to successfully upgrade to Picture Publisher 8.0.1, you must currently have a working copy of Picture Publisher 8 installed on your hard drive. To check your current version of Picture Publisher, click About Picture Publisher on the Help menu. The Picture Publisher 8.0.1 Patch includes the following changes: * You can save an image in the Flashpix format. * Bevel Factory does not crash when you bevel text. * Bevel Factory does not crash if you delete checker.tif or flat.tif from the Textures folder. * Light Studio does not randomly crash. * Pasting an image with a mask into the GIF Animator does not crash the application. * The Global Palette works when you paste into a frame in the GIF Animator. * The Save As command works for read-only PPF files. * Printers no longer print a black line along the edges of images. * Running a macro in a Picture Publisher OLE session does not crash the application. * You can delete a color in the Edit Palette dialog box by pressing the Delete key. * You no longer have to click Update before clicking OK in the Edit Palette dialog box to apply changes. * 8- and 16-color GIFs no longer open as 256-color GIFs. * The Continuous Seam option in the Tile Creator wizard works on masked images. * BMP files saved with RLE compression open correctly. * Using the Paint tool in the Retouch toolset does not crash the application for NT 4.0 users without administration rights. * Overlapping objects with hotspots output correctly to HTML from the Web Output wizard. No new functionality has been added with this update, but some features have been improved. Although it should not be necessary, this update can be uninstalled using the normal uninstall procedure, allowing you to restore the original version by reinstalling from the CD-ROM.
